Joe Knows Gardening
Ellen C. Wells
The thing about vegetable gardening is, no matter how long you’ve been doing it there’s always something to learn. Whether it’s a new-to-you crop or technique or a continuing battle with a pervasive pest (I’m talking about you, earwigs!), each gardening season—nay, each gardening month!—holds a challenge to be conquered.
That’s why I’m excited for television and podcasting host—and very good gardener—Joe Lamp’l’s new book coming out in September. “The Vegetable Gardening Book: Your complete guide to growing an edible garden from seed to harvest” includes insider tips and next-level insight into gardening for all those millions of new pandemic gardeners who are ready to move beyond the basics.
Joe, AKA “joe gardener,” lays out some upleveling info for your customer’s next vegetable garden. In the book, you’ll find ideas for designing a garden for the greatest yield in the smallest footprint; reducing the traditional workload of a garden; tips on raised beds, extending the growing season and smart-choice tools; and details for 40 of Joe’s favorite crops.
