Front Yard Focus for 2024
Jennifer White
A recent survey from Monrovia indicates that more homeowners are interested in redesigning their front yards. Their polling of 1,400 homeowners across the U.S. showed a 4% increase in front yard redesigns compared to last year, and it was younger, more affluent respondents who were most interested. Meanwhile, respondents’ interest in landscaping improvements in general remained level compared to last year.
“With interest rates high, people are staying put and improving their current homes,” said Katie Tamony, chief marketing officer and trend spotter at Monrovia, in a press release. “During the pandemic, many people invested in the backyard spaces where they spent more time. Now their attention is moving to the front yard.
“For front yards, we are seeing interest that goes beyond just increasing curb appeal. Homeowners may be looking to take out lawns, create a more water-wise landscape, increase outdoor living space, or just give the area a more modern feel.” GP
