Digging In Becomes Association

Jennifer Polanz

If you design containers for a living, there’s a new association for you to join—if you haven’t already. Digging in Gathering LLC was an organization founded in 2017 and dedicated to “advancing the interests and professional development of container gardening professionals.” At the end of July it officially transformed into the new Digging in Association, designated as a 501 c6 tax-exempt organization.

“We are thrilled to have formed the association and achieved nonprofit status,” said Founder and Executive Director Andrea Gasper. “We look forward to the expanding possibilities this brings for our members. This designation represents a significant step forward in our commitment to serving professionals in the container garden community.”

The goal is twofold: promote the common business interests of its members and leverage new opportunities for growth and support. Currently, there are more than 200 members from the U.S. and Canada. Board of Directors members include Andrea Gasper, President Cindy Funes, Vice President Leanne James, Secretary Mary Starnes and Treasurer Leigh McGonagle. For more information, visit Digging-In.org and check out a feature on members of the group in an upcoming issue of Green Profit! GP
