Staying Upright
Jennifer Polanz
Trees are a difficult product to display. They’re large, bulky and take up a lot of space. They also get knocked over frequently, requiring some method to keep them upright. Here are a few options I’ve seen over the years for everyday use, as well as a new one introduced this year.
Clockwise from top left: This mix of stone, wood and metal pipe allows for a study structure to which tree trunks can be loosely tied. • A fully wood option with posts at the corners makes for a clean look. The closeup shows how the plastic holder is fastened securely to the wood. • An interesting concept for shrubs or smaller trees, this retailer highlighted them two to a crate, making the fit fairly tight so they couldn’t topple over. • This new customizable wire system is a result of a partnership between A.M.A. Horticulture and the Dutch company Van Schaik Rack Solutions.
