Always Keep Learning

Jennifer Polanz

There are lots of ways to stay fresh and/or help employees learn new things, and horticulture rock star Leslie Halleck offers up a few of those ways. She teaches courses through UCLA extension that focus on business and technical components in the green industry, and a few are coming up. Starting April 2, she’ll be teaching  the six-week course “The Business of Horticulture.” Registration opens February 3.

She also teaches “General Botany for Gardeners,” which is a great plant science training for staff or industry members looking for continued education. That course runs March 31 - June 13. All the courses are open enrollment, which means anyone can register and join. They’re online and you can work through them asynchronously (which is essentially on your own time), and Leslie holds live office hours on Zoom every week for Q&A and open discussion.

To learn more about each course and to register, go HERE and HERE. GP
