Honors from American Horticultural Society

The American Horticultural Society (AHS) has bestowed several awards onto authors and landscape designers this spring. They recently announced two recipients of the 2026 AHS Book Awards, along with two honorable mentions, and two winners of the AHS Ecological Exhibit Award. First, the book awards.
Winners are:
“Pansies” by Brenna Estrada (Timber Press)
“Hidden World: The Survival System of Plants” by Kevin Tarner and Rachel Hughes (University of Georgia Press)
Honorable Mentions are:
“Designing the Lush Dry Garden: Create a Climate-Resilient, Low-Water Paradise” by Cricket Riley, Alice Kitajima and Kier Holmes; photography by Caitlin Atkinson (Timber Press)
“Gardens of Texas” by Pam Penick (Timber Press)
Now, the 2026 Ecological Exhibit Award winners, recognized for exceptional plant show exhibits:
The Knowledge of Place and Time, by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Tacoma, Washington, at the Northwest Flower & Gardens Festival
The Apothecary’s Path, by Irwin Landscaping, Hockessin, Delaware, and Prairie Wind, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, at the Philadelphia Flower Show
