Serenity Now!

Jennifer Polanz
Article ImageEditor’s note: For the next couple of months, with the help of the National Garden Bureau, we’ll be taking a look at niche garden options.

I couldn’t help myself with that "Seinfeld" reference in the headline (IYKYK). But this month we’re looking at serene garden concepts where your customers can create their own place for peace, relaxation, a space to meditate or to just be.

Tips include comfortable seating (turn to page 34 for more on that), finding a shady spot or installing a pergola, adding a water feature and picking the right plants. Shades of green, along with gently muted tones work well, along with fragrant blooms for aromatherapy. Suggestions include:
  • Rose Colette
  • Verbascum Southern Charm
  • Sedum Spectacular
  • Lavender Phenomenal
  • Zinnia Belize Double Pink Bicolor
