Beacon’s Red Carpet Moment

It’s the biggest night in music and Beacon Impatiens were there to welcome artists down the red carpet of the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Botanical Artist Tu Bloom created a living garden floral design of 22 Beacon White and Beacon Bright Red topiaries at the limo entrance where musicians paraded down the red carpet and into the Staples Center in Los Angeles. More than 13.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the red carpet and awards show.

The topiary designs consisted of two 12-in. hanging baskets and coco liners wired together with dozens of Beacon White Impatiens growing around the sphere. The red carpet installation included a 4-in. plastic pipe covered in fresh-cut lemon leaves and flanged to a sturdy display base. Beacon Bright Red in 6-in. pots filled its pedestal.

“Everything has worked out so well. The design prototype I created came together with gorgeous plants from PanAmerican Seed,” Tu Bloom said in a Facebook Live right before the show. “My goal from the beginning has been to take this elegant design and make it attainable for any gardener with any level of skill. I look forward to seeing home gardeners replicate some form of my Grammy design.”

Beacon Impatiens, which are known for their high resistance to Impatiens Downy Mildew and are making their  spring debut this year at retail, were grown in California by Kawahara Nurseries. Find out more at www.BeaconImpatiens.com. GP
