Sustainable Pots

More and more of our customers are in search of non-plastic goods, and we use our fair share of plastics in this industry, but alternatives to plastics are increasingly available. The HC Companies, North America's leading manufacturer of horticultural containers, is doing what they can to supply that demand. They’ve just expanded their sustainable offerings with the introduction of a new biobased resin material used to create the BioPax line of growing containers.

BioPax containers are formulated from sustainably sourced wood pulp. Other ecofriendly aspects of the containers include:

• Over 50% certified biodegradable and compostable materials

• Will not break down into microplastics

• Non-GMO, non-toxic

• All the strength and performance you’d expect while being mindful of the environment

• Certified USDA BioPreferred

The BioPax pots are available in two round sizes (3 in. and 4.5 in.) and are designed for reuse. The material naturally breaks down with the aid of microorganisms without leaving microplastics. In addition, the pots come in the EcoGreen color, which gives each pot a unique, swirl-like pattern as a result of the bio-based color. GP
