Pets On The Payroll Returns

I know I said we would end Pets on the Payroll in December 2022, but it proved to be a very popular segment, so we’re going to run them as long as we get them! If you’d like to highlight your favorite non-human employee, send us a high-resolution image (anything off a newer smartphone generally works) and a description, including what they do at the store and why they’re vital to your business. This month, we highlight Felco from Island Seed & Feed in Goleta, California, contributed by Matt Buckmaster.

“This would be the 2-year-old who adopted himself out to the Feed & Seed store near where he was born. What do you name a cat who lives at a nursery and is orange?  We went with Felco,” he writes, adding he’s a stellar mouser out in the feed yard.

“He can also be found in the garden destroying catnip or nepeta plants. Lately, he has been getting in customers’ cars. Only twice has he driven away with the unknowing customer, only to be happily returned later in the day.”
