CEA Alliance Releases Food Safety Guidance

The CEA Alliance, an indoor production trade association, has released the first of what seems to be several Commodity Specific Food Safety Guidelines for Controlled Environment Agriculture.

This one is focused on leafy greens and herbs, and includes detailed information on everything from facility and equipment design, worker health and hygiene, substrates, water, sanitation, traceability, and shipping, among other topics, all related to food safety. What’s nice, too, is this is facility agnostic, so whether you grow in a greenhouse, a vertical farm, container or a hybrid, you can still glean some excellent information here.
