Decked Out
Jennifer Polanz

I visited the Family Tree Nursery Liberty store during a recent quick trip through Kansas City on the way out to the Kansas Greenhouse Growers Conference, and wanted to share a few displays as inspo for this holiday and beyond.
The Liberty location is the smallest footprint of the three Family Tree Nursery stores, and what it may lack in square footage it makes up in charm, whimsy and shopability. For example, in the main image you can see a pergola set up right in the middle of the store, which makes the perfect base off which to work for holiday-themed displays, including trees, ornaments, decor and gifts.
The outside was in the process of being transitioned from fall to holiday (I visited on October 29) and the coffee food truck, Café Equinox, was getting ready to move to inside the greenhouse attached to the store. Store Manager Tanner Jones (a Young Retailer finalist in 2019) told me coffee has been a great addition to the mix and helps to set the mood, particularly around holidays and special events.
I had to snap a pic of merchandiser Kaisee Boyer's incredible paper mache mushroom that is so creative (and took many hours) to set off the display for the super popular Shroomyz underneath.
