Terrain’s Container Book
Jennifer Polanz

The ever-stylish Terrain recently announced publication of a new book that highlights 100 container garden recipes. The book, “Terrain: The Container Garden Book,” was co-authored by Melissa Barley, Terrain’s visual director, and Greg Lehmkuhl, Terrain’s creative director, and captures more than a decade of the garden center’s design philosophy. It offers seasonal container planting ideas with practical tips on vessels, drainage and soil.
“We wrote this book for both first-time plant owners and seasoned gardeners,” said Melissa. “Our goal was to make it feel genuinely approachable, while removing the pressure to get it ‘right’ and encourage readers to experiment and discover their own point of view along the way.”
Check it out at shopterrain.com, along with other in-house titles on houseplants and inspiration for the home and garden. Also, while a book of this scope isn’t always within reach of every retail outlet, a collection of container concepts—whether printed or on a website—can always be helpful to customers looking to put together their own mixes!
